It always amazes me how many people are looking to get discounted power tools rather than focusing on the best tool for the job.
Of course we all want to make sure that we are not paying too much … but what is most important?
Select The Best Power Tool First
Rather than being focused on what you need to pay for a power tool you are better to concentrate on what you actually need.
Price is important … but obviously there is a job to do and that is really why you are shopping for a new power tool.
We know that selecting the right power tools will make the job easier, and conversely getting the wrong power tool will cause all sorts of frustrations.
Over the years I have decided to focus on what I need rather than the price.
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
Quote by: Benjamin Franklin
As the quote says, the sweetness of a low price will not last, and in many respects the reminder of bad quality will linger for a long time.
Shop For The Best Price Once You Know What You Want
That doesn’t mean that price is irrelevant, as we all know we don’t want to be careless with our money.
What we are saying is choose your new power tool to best suit your requirements and then you can compare prices.
Too often people become so focused on price that they forget what they really want
While not specific to power tools I remember buying a cheap log splitter.
I had a few logs on the trailer to split, so I didn’t research what was a good options and went for the cheapest.
What a bad mistake that was!
Not only did the axe head fly off the end of the handle, but it sailed through the air and was so close to smashing into either my young son or the car.
It was a luck escape really, and taught me not to focus on price alone.
I will now always try to research what I am going to buy and then I will check the price.
This is more important to me than just getting discounted power tools … or anything else for that matter!
This is one of the main reasons that I decided to set up this website to review power tools and provide a buying guide too.
